- What is Dancecore Company?
Dancecore Company
is a group of dancers that are passionate about the art of dance and serious about their dance training. It is primarily
their main focus of their extra curricular activities. These dancers are chosen through an audition process. The
Company competes at various dance competitions throughout the dance year, attends dance conventions and represents the Academy
at parades, volunteering in the community, etc. and as a leader for other students .
The Dancecore Company is a privilege and
a serious commitment for the dancers as well as the parents. This privilege gives the dancers more performing opportunities,
and more extensive and intense training time in their studio. Also, the opportunity and exposure to be trained by renowned
and "famous" teachers in different styles of various disciplines of dance and they will progress at a much faster
pace than other students.
- What are the requirements to audition?
Students must have completed Ballet I. and Jazz I. or a combo
of Ballet/Jazz and have a recommendation from their teacher to Miss Jentry. If you meet those requirements you may audition!
- When are auditions and what are the costs?
2011-2012 Dance Year Auditions are June 16th. 4:30pm-6:00pm ages
6-9 6:00pm-7:30pm ages 10-14
The cost is $20.00
- What is required if you are a member of the Dancecore Company?
Students must take all company classes that include the dance disciplines
Ballet (2 lessons a week), Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop. There is a company class that must be attended also twice a month. A
"bootcamp" is required to attend where the competition dances will be taught and staged.
Company is also a financial commitment as well. However, to eliminate
random fees and due dates through out the year all of the competition costumes, entry fees, dance conventions, bootcamp, recital
costumes, audition fees, recital fee and monthly tuition for dance lessons are included in one fee. This fee is divided
into monthly installments throughout the dance year.
- What is the time obligation?
In addition to the number of hours spent in your dance training at the Academy, there are 2-3 mandatory
competitions and 1-2 dance conventions. Also, every even year participation in The Nutcracker Ballet or Christmas Performance
and the odd years giving back to the community through dance and our Recital Ballet.
